About Roden Red

Roden Red Puts Our Entire System Inventory at Your Service
All for One, One for All

With Roden Red, when you buy from one service center, all the others back you up.

What is Roden Red?  It is an inter-branch logistics system to move products from any service center inventory to any other and to you. You benefit by having a supplier whose total inventory is available to serve you when you need it. Roden has made the investment in systems technology, processes and people to make our total system inventory work at maximum efficiency for you.

Other distributors transfer stock, so what is different about Roden Red?   Some inter-branch systems transfer inventory when needed, but Roden Red moves products through every service center at least once per day, some twice. We have built enough critical mass of volume in Alabama, East Tennessee, and Northern Georgia to economically provide the highest fulfillment responsiveness for you.

The result? You get fast (hence the "Red") access to Roden’s total system inventory,   no matter where it is stocked. Access to more stock means you will find more of the products that you need - much faster, with the convenience and cost savings that result from dealing with one supplier. In most cases, Roden Red can make inventory from any branch available to you within 24 hours. Make sure to check with us before you order. The ability to supply in 24 hours depends on when you call the prior day.

Local Deliveries, Too

Each service center has its own will call counter and its own delivery vehicles to take over after Roden Red arrives. If you are really in a hurry and would prefer to pick up your items as soon as they arrive, our service center associates will let you know when you can pick up at our will-call counters.

What About Local Stock?

You might be wondering: Is everything stocked at the Central Distribution Center (CDC) at Knoxville? Not by a long shot. We have ample stocks of frequently ordered items, and items required on short notice for local customers at our service centers. However, industry research shows that a wholesale distributor can provide higher fulfillment rates when they consolidate inventory of slower turn items in a CDC.

Why? Most distributor computer systems calculate how many of each item should be stocked at each branch based on historical item movement, or “turns.” In the case of slower moving items, this could be a very small quantity, and may not even amount to the average number requested on one order! Consolidating inventory increases the chance of meeting your average order quantity and minimizing stock outs. With Roden Red’s logistics capabilities, you get the best total solution of inventory and delivery services.

Check around - We think Roden has the best system serving Alabama, East Tennessee, and Northern Georgia.
